The first meeting of the new Rotary year 2017 - 2018.
President Beverly's first meeting of the year.
Nelson Edwards, who was a member of our club before he moved back to Michigan, was our guest speaker. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Warren, MI. Nelson told us about a group he has been involved with for many years. Voluntary Optometric Service to Humanity (VOSH). Nelson has done 40 missions with the organization and number 41 will be October 27th - November 9th. There will be a team of 16 travelling to Keyna.
While in Kenya VOSH will be working with his very close friend, David Muiru, a member of the Nairobi Utumishi Rotary Club and the club. Nelson, David and the two clubs are also working on a Global Grant for Gift of Life - to provide 100 heart operations to children in Kenya.
